Greetings, Xenite!

Welcome to the site and thanks for joining me as we explore the Xenaverse. The blog is home to my various projects, such as rambling, well, ramblings (aka Midnight Musings), poems and music by me and inspired by XWP, XWP In Review, The Astrology Of XWP Project, fan fic and more. The Road Trip and the Meet Ups sparked a new project and I'll tell you more about that later. And, ya know, soon I need to get the poem-lyrics snug as a bug in the rug and happily ensconced on their shiny new pages; and then I still have to try to import the old comments. Ugh, work! And me, so l-a-z-y! Well, thank you for visiting. I hope you'll enjoy your stay and that you'll come back often! Battle on! bama :)

Legend of the Seeker, Raimi and Tapert team up for TV again

August 11, 2008 (11:09 pm) | XWP Alumni, Xenaverse News | 3 comments

There’s been quite a bit of buzz lately about Legend of the Seeker, the new syndicated series based on Wizard’s First Rule, the first book in the epic series by author Terry Goodkind, The Sword of Truth. LOTS is being produced by the legendary Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert and filmed in New Zealand. I watched the trailer (see below) this weekend and just seeing the old XWP stomping grounds nearly brought tears to my eyes. Read more »

This song is stuck in my head, Oh No!

August 10, 2008 (6:10 pm) | Audio and Music, Reviews | 0 comments

Greetings, Xenites! I’ve been working away on my new podcast, planning and pondering what to tell you about. There’s so much! I just heard this song, and though it’s not Xena-related, it is by an indie female artist, so that’s sorta related, since I’ve started posting some songs over at iCompositions. (Shameless, ain’t I?) I was listening to various podcasts to see how other folks did theirs. That’s how I discovered Rubyfruit Radio and that podcast led me to KaiserCartel. You can watch the video from YouTube below. Were You Recording Just Now?” Diva Dawg! Keep your eyes glued to this spot for more details. Read more »

Blood in the Rain, okay, why that name?

August 4, 2008 (6:51 am) | Audio and Music, Midnight Musings | 0 comments

bama's music podcast, Blood in the RainBlood in the Rain is the short name of my music page at iComp and the podcast too. The long name is Blood in the Rain, songs of love and death by bama. Why? I have no idea. Well, that’s not strictly true. The image of Samurai Gabrielle fighting in the pouring rain to gain possession of her beloved’s body is an image that has haunted me since I first saw FIN II. Read more »

My first new song in over a year is now out. Home Town, song for a warrior is a song written for a journey. For the journey’s beginning. And ending. And beginning anew. A little end of the month musing

August 1, 2008 (12:29 am) | Audio and Music, Midnight Musings | 2 comments

Gotta a couple of things to share with you tonight.

First, the new look: You may notice that the banner on the pages has changed (again) and this time, and for the first time in all my years on the web, the banner looks like a piece of art, created by an artist. Well, it is and it was. My good pal over at the XOC, Read more »

My new podcast, Blood in the Rain

July 30, 2008 (5:36 am) | Audio and Music | 0 comments

Blood in the Rain, my music podcast on iTunes The Music Page here at the site is getting pretty full, and that’s a good thing, but it doesn’t really get the exposure I wish it did, and that’s a bad thing, but lately a few people have suggested that I put my files somewhere else, which is a good thing…At least, I hope it is. :O I think they meant that I should upload my files on one of the many indie music sites that have exploded into being on the web these last few years. So tonight that’s what I did. Read more »

News about my first XWP song in over a year

July 26, 2008 (10:49 pm) | Audio and Music, Personal | 0 comments

I have an announcement to make. I recently finished recording my first new XWP song in over a year; and a very good friend and fellow Xenite is helping polish it up and mix it in, get this, a real studio! :D And this is after she inspired me to go out and spend waaaay more dinars than I should’ve on some real audio gear. I hope to have the new song posted in the next few days and I hope this is a hint of the shape of things to come.

Well, thanks for — what’s that you say? What’s the song about? Now I don’t wanna give anything away. It’s very simple, not heavily processed — oh, you wanted to know what it’s about. It’s about a certain Warrior Princess and her loving Bard, Gabrielle…hmmm, I suppose you knew that, though, right? ;) But that’s all I’m gonna tell ya. You’ll just have to come back after I post it. :D

I’m back in the Xenaverse saddle again, my creative juices are flowin’, and I can hardly wait to see what kinda mischief I can get into from now on. Thanks for stopping by, friend, and I hope you’ll enjoy your stay. Til then, battle on, Xenite! Woohoo! bama :)
